BUIS, Vernie Edgar - Putnam

Born Feb 16, 1900 at Putnam County, he was the son of Oscar and Martha (Burns) Buis.  A longtime resident of Greencastle, Mr. Buis was formerly a custodian for Greencastle schools.  He had lived in New Whiteland for about a year.  The deceased is survived by a son, Richard Buis of New Whiteland, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.  A brother, Paul Buis of Martinsville and three sisters, Lula Pritchard and Floy McCullough, Greencastle and Mrs. Ruth Cox, Cloverdale also survive.  Funeral services will be held for Mr. Buis at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Rector Funeral Home in Greencastle with burial following at the Forest Hill Cemetery.  Calling hours will be after 2 p.m. today. – kbz
